The "METAL ROBOT SPIRITS" series, which combines metallic paint and alloy frames and is published by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectible toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS, has announced that the latest product "Giant Sword Pulse Gundam Spec II" from the theatrical animation "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM" is expected to be released in August 2025.
The ZGMF-56E2 Pulse Gundam Spec II is a new machine that was repaired and improved by the Akebono Society using the latest technology after the Eternal secretly recovered the Pulse Gundam that was severely damaged in the past war. After replacing the new battery and other energy systems, the color of the VPS armor becomes deeper after activation, and it can also be wirelessly charged through the Hyper Duetrion beam power supply system launched by Destiny Gundam Spec II. The rest of the armament remains basically unchanged, and it can still be equipped with backpacks such as the power type, the greatsword type and the bombardment type, and can also carry the giant external equipment "Tactical Assault Machine METEOR".
The "METAL ROBOT Soul Cleaver Pulse Gundam Spec II" is modified based on the previously released Power Pulse Gundam. The main body design is basically the same, with a refined and handsome armor shape. Some movable frames are made of alloy parts for flexible movement and a heavy feel to play with. The paint is changed to heavy deep red and black to reproduce the reinforced VPS armor, and the model's original body logo is printed everywhere.
The weapon comes with a newly made "great sword type external equipment". The two characteristic weapons mounted on the backpack, the "Sword in the Stone" laser anti-ship knife and the "Shining Blade" beam boomerang, can both be removed and used with beam special effect parts. The anti-ship knife can even be connected to form a double-headed great sword mode. The handheld weapons also come with a mobile shield, two folding anti-armor swords, and the prototype Type 35 modified railgun that was newly added to the theatrical version.
