Bandai Candy, the popular assembly model candy toy series from the Japanese toy company Bandai, has announced that the latest product in their series, " Shokugan Modeling Project, " based on the classic anime "Kongo Daimajin ," is scheduled for release in December 2026.
After Koji Kabuto piloted the "Mazinger Z" and fought countless battles, he finally defeated the underground empire led by the evil genius scientist Dr. Hell. However, the powerful Mycenaean Empire, lurking behind the scenes, was about to invade the surface. To counter this, Koji's father, Kenzo Kabuto, created another, even more powerful "Mazinger Z," based on the Mazinger Z. The protagonist of the sequel, Tetsuya Kenzo , took over as pilot . He defended the surface in place of Koji, who was away studying abroad, and used the superior performance of the Mazinger Z to defeat the Mycenaean Empire's army of battle beasts.

Made with a larger overall height of 14.5 cm than its predecessor , Mazinger Z , the entire machine retains the streamlined curved armor, sharper head, and chest heat plate design from the anime. Furthermore, the molding colors of parts such as the head, abdomen, upper arms, and thighs adopt the same silver tone as alloy toys at the time, giving Mazinger Z a more substantial feel. The smaller fighter jet, the "Command Boat," also boasts a detailed design and recreates the mechanism for separating and combining with Mazinger Z's head.
The full-body articulation design is basically similar to Mazinger Z, with a pull-out hip joint design to expand the lower body's range of motion, allowing for poses such as a high kneeling position and the signature pose of unleashing the Zangetsu Flame. The wrists can be detached from the elbow joint at any time to recreate the "Zangetsu Flying Fist" stance. In addition, the accessories also include the "Zangetsu Wings," a flight component that unfolds from the back. The base of the wings has a movable design that allows for swinging, enabling the recreation of cool flight postures.
