SUPER7, an American toy brand dedicated to releasing toys themed around 80s and 90s pop culture, has launched a new product from its ToHo ULTIMATES! series of monster-themed action figures – "Godzilla (Oto Island)" – based on the movie "Godzilla-1.0". The suggested retail price is $80 USD. Pre-orders are currently available exclusively on the SUPER7 Amazon official store, with a planned release in January 2027.
In the opening of *Godzilla-1.0*, Lieutenant Koichi Shikishima, a kamikaze pilot who had fled in fear, landed his Zero carrier-based fighter at the Japanese base on Ogojima Island. That night, a giant, dinosaur-like creature named Godzilla suddenly attacked the base. A frightened Shikishima failed to fire and defeat it, incurring blame for causing numerous casualties. Two years later, after absorbing nuclear radiation from an American nuclear test, Godzilla, now even more powerful, attacked Tokyo, which was recovering from the war.
This ToHo ULTIMATES! figure brings to life the dinosaur-like Godzilla from the 1945 Otojima primary screening. Standing approximately 17 cm tall and 28.8 cm long, the figure boasts incredibly detailed and lifelike sculpting. The more forward-leaning body compared to two years later is meticulously recreated, with details such as the rough skin, gaping maw, and sharp dorsal fins rendered with exquisite precision. It features 28 points of articulation on the head, neck, hands, feet, and tail. Accessories include a roaring head sculpt and two sets of interchangeable claws, allowing for vivid recreation of various poses from the show!
