HIYA TOYS, a high-quality collectible model brand from China, has announced the release of its latest product in the EXQUISITE BASIC Series, the "Male & Female Muto Set," based on the movie Godzilla (2014) . The set is scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2027.
MUTO is an original Titan from Legendary Pictures' MonsterVerse. It first appeared in the 2014 film *Godzilla* as Godzilla's main enemy. Its name comes from an abbreviation of "Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism," a creature that, like Godzilla, originated in the Permian period and is a nuclear-powered predator. It resembles a giant insect with eight long legs. Female MUTOs are larger and have a pair of robust forelimbs, while smaller male MUTOs can fly by spreading their large wings from their forelimbs.
The "EXQUISITE BASIC Male & Female Muto Set" is a modified version of the female Muto individual product released in 2024. In addition to the female Muto , which stands approximately 15 cm tall, a new male Muto , standing 11 cm tall, has also been added . Both are painted in a dark gray tone, highlighting the irregular patterns on their shells that give them a biological feel, and fluorescent paint is applied to their eyes to create an orange glow. The bodies and legs also have multiple points of articulation, allowing users to recreate their battle poses from the anime.
The female Muto has a movable jaw and tongue, and the eggs on her abdomen are specially painted so that they fluoresce under ultraviolet light. The male Muto comes with two interchangeable wing designs, which can reach a total wingspan of 33 cm when spread. The wing membranes are made of soft PVC parts with embedded metal wires. In addition, a nuclear warhead is included as an accessory, which the male Muto can bite to recreate a scene from the show.
