INFORMATION
The “Great Old One” from the Cthulhu Mythos is said to have ruled the earth during prehistoric times. This impressive and terrifying beast has been sculpted with overwhelming size and presence.
Based on Paul Komoda's interpretation of Lovecraft's creature, Shinya Yamaoka hand-sculpted the entire statue, which stands at an impressive height and width of 400 mm. Yamaoka created the other worldly yet still life-like details by hand using a special spatula technique which cannot be recreated via digital modeling.
Enhancing the brilliant details and capturing the cosmic horror and fear that humans can never beat these supernatural beings is the paint work created by Katsushige Akiyama.
The base is made in the image of the ancient stone city of R'lyeh, which sank to the bottom of the South Pacific Ocean. In the center of the base is the portrait of H.P. Lovecraft, the creator of the Cthulhu Mythos. His portrait captures a curious and cautious emotion paying tribute to the great writer.
As a pre-order bonus, an additional head of Lovecraft who seems to have fallen to the dark side due to cosmic terror, is included.
