Bandai Toys, the popular tokusatsu/monster-themed soft vinyl toy series 'MOVIE MONSTER', has announced a new product, "Megalo (2023) Flying ver.", based on the short video "Godzilla VS Megalo" from "Godzilla Fes 2023". It is scheduled for release on May 13, 2026. This product will be exclusively available at the official GODZILLA STORE store.
At the "Godzilla Fes 2023" event, Toho officially released a new short tokusatsu film, *Godzilla vs. Megalo*, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of its monster "Megalo". The film's world setting continues from the previous year's * Godzilla vs. Gigannox *, while the plot pays homage to the 1973 film *Godzilla vs. Megalo*. The story describes how a mysterious girl from an underwater kingdom uses the remaining energy from the Gigannox wreckage to awaken the kingdom's guardian spirit, Megalo, and launch an attack on Japan. Meanwhile, Godzilla, sensing Megalo's resurrection, lands in Japan, and a battle between the two giant monsters is about to erupt.
"MOVIE MONSTER Megalo (2023) Flight ver." is a modified version of the standard version released in 2024. It uses a new design to recreate the posture of spreading its wings and raising its arms when flying. It has a powerful size of about 17.5cm in height and about 29cm in length. The color paint shows the dark red of the joints and wings, the yellow eyes, the yellow patterns on the back shell, and the metallic silver drill bits on the arms.
