Solvalu Plush Model Kit (Wave)

WAVE , a Japanese toy brand that releases a variety of robot models, is scheduled to resell a model kit of the fighter "SOLVALOU" from the classic 1980s video game XEVIOUS in June 2026, priced at 4,950 yen.

Fans of classic games will certainly be familiar with XEVIOUS, a vertical scrolling shooter developed by Namco. It was originally released in January 1983 on arcade platforms with the tagline "The mystery deepens with each play! When will the full story of XEVIOUS be revealed?" It was a huge success upon release, second only to Space Invaders in sales. A port to the Nintendo Famicom was released in November 1984, which was also loved by many players.

In the game, players control the fighter jet "SOLVALOU" to attack and repel incoming enemies. The name SOLVALOU comes from an ancient language: SOL means sun and VOLOU means bird, together meaning "bird of the sun," or the phoenix. Equipped with both air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons, which can be fired simultaneously, it is the newest fighter-bomber of the XEVIOUS defense force.

This SOLVALOU fighter jet assembly model, released by WAVE, is in its third sale. Standing approximately 11cm tall (including the base), the entire unit requires no additional adhesive for assembly. The colors are clearly defined, resulting in a high level of completion upon assembly. The cockpit in the nose is presented through a transparent panel and can be opened to reveal it. The base image depicts the appearance of the enemy's large floating fortress, "ANDOR GENESIS," creating a strong sense of battle atmosphere when displayed together.
