INFORMATION
In the Lost School Garden, there is a library floating outside of memory, shrouded in mist and afterimages. Time stops flowing here, with only broken memories and blurred figures.
Ying is a girl - or rather, looks like a girl. She has no entity, just a black shadow swaying in the wind. No one knows where she comes from, and no one tells her her name. She is looking for proof of existence.
Ying wanders in the library, which is in ruins and the desks are tilted. The only intact thing is a huge mirror standing in the center of the library, with a strange white light on the mirror.
Ying approaches the mirror and cannot see herself, and there is nothing in the mirror. Ying reaches out her hand, but finds that her hand passes through the mirror like a wave. She is stunned and whispers: I remember that I am a forgotten shadow, a part of someone else, but never belongs to myself. A
fragmentary picture flashes through Ying's mind - the back of a girl, standing in the sun, with a very long shadow.
Ying randomly pulls out a book from the books that have preserved countless fragments of memory, and finds that there is no text on it, only a blurred picture: a girl in the picture.
"It's her..." Ying murmured, "Whose shadow am I?"
The book whispered, "She is you, and you are her. But she has forgotten you, and you have become a prisoner."
"Forgot me?" Ying felt a prick in her heart, and she clenched the pages of the book, "I want to find her and let her remember me!"
There was endless fog in the mirror, and Ying knew she had to go through it. Every step of Ying was fighting against nothingness, and the fog was swallowing her.
Finally, Ying saw a vague figure standing in the depths of the fog. Her face was hidden in the haze, but it exuded a familiar warmth.
"It's you!" Ying shouted, "I'm your shadow! I'm the part you once forgot!"
The girl turned her head with a confused look: "Shadow? No... I don't have a shadow anymore."
"Because you abandoned me!" Ying's voice was filled with anger and pleading, "Why did you forget me?"
The girl was silent for a moment, and whispered: "I didn't abandon you, but... I was afraid of you. You carry my past, my sadness, my fear, and my weakness. In order to become a better self, I choose to forget you."
Ying was silent for a long time, and then said softly: "Are you happy now without me?"
Tears appeared in the girl's eyes. She reached out and touched the outline of Ying: Without you, I would lose me. Without sadness, there would be no happiness in the world. Without you, I would never be complete, nor would I be a better self.
In an instant, the fog dissipated, and Ying and the girl became one. The sun shone on the earth again, and a complete shadow finally appeared behind the girl. Life began again from this moment.
