Emperor Taizong of Qing, Aisin-Gioro Huang Taiji , was one of the founders of the Qing Dynasty and its founding emperor.
Huang Taiji's armor is a representative piece of cloth-faced iron armor from the early Qing Dynasty. It features a composite structure of blue satin and iron plates, with colorful cloud and dragon patterns embroidered on the front and back, and flaming pearls and auspicious patterns such as wheels, conch shells, and umbrellas on the armpits and other parts.
The entire suit of armor consists of nine parts, including the upper garment, lower garment, sleeves, and armpit guards, which are connected by buttons and straps. The lower garment is hand-sewn with more than 260 metal pieces, and the armor uses 1,000 2mm copper nails.
The sleeves are connected to narrow, curved iron plates, and the shoulders are made of rectangular plates forming a single piece of arm armor. The arms and hands are joined together with slender and larger plates, respectively. The entire suit of armor is connected by buttons and straps, and components such as armpit guards and front seam covers fit tightly with the main body to form a complete protective system.
Its Ming-style arm and hand structure and rectangular shoulder armor design reflect the craftsmanship characteristics of the Qing army before entering the pass, influenced by Ming Dynasty armor. The arm armor is hand-sewn from more than 300 metal plates ( koc012 is stainless steel, and koc013 is brass).
The armor of the Huang Taiji soldier model produced by the brand was designed based on the actual Huang Taiji armor treasured in the Palace Museum.
