The Toho Daikaiju series of soft vinyl monster models, produced by PLEX and distributed by X-PLUS, featuring monsters from Toho movies , has announced a new product based on the movie "Shin Godzilla" : "Godzilla (2016) 2nd Form 10th Anniversary Ver." , scheduled for release in April 2026.
Godzilla , featured in the movie *Shin Godzilla*, is a giant, fully evolved creature capable of rapid adaptation to its environment. Its initial "second form," which first landed in Tokyo, resembled an amphibian with enormous gills on either side of its neck. Its eyes were round and fish-like, and its limbs were not yet fully evolved to support its weight, allowing it to crawl ashore along rivers. Because of its somewhat grotesque yet endearing appearance, and its landing in Kamata, Tokyo, fans nicknamed it "Kamata-kun" (meaning "Kamata-kun").
"Godzilla (2016) 2nd Form 10th Anniversary Ver." uses the same mold as the first version released in 2017, and is approximately 53 cm in length, capturing the powerful crawling and wriggling pose in three dimensions. The entire body is meticulously sculpted to present Godzilla's large, watery eyes, the gill slits on both sides of the neck resembling those of a frilled shark, and the highly biological skin wrinkles. The head and dorsal fins are made with transparent parts, and the transparent red paintwork is used to express the translucent mouth full of biological feel and the glowing texture of the energy inside the body.
