Born as an art and graphic model, former art director of Dentsu, she has long been involved in TVC shooting and artist visual modeling planning for brands such as Shiseido, Daiichi Sankyo, and Kose.
In 2016, she founded her own figure studio in Osaka, dedicated to integrating film and television aesthetics with character modeling to create unique female action figures.
She is good at depicting female facial details, expressions and body language. Her works achieve a high balance between mobility and artistic expression, and are deeply loved by collectors.
In the creation of Mio Mizuhara, the one thing we insist on most is that her face must be "alive".
This head sculpture is inspired by real people and carefully carved in combination with the character setting. From the proportion of facial features, expression to the smoothness of facial contours, we have repeatedly revised it, just to restore the instantaneous sense of reality of "you look down and she looks back at you".
Her eyes are movable, and can adjust her sight according to your placement angle. With the uniquely designed woolen wig, she can show different emotions every time she changes her clothes and at every angle.
Whether you watch it quietly or take photos with the plot, Mio Mizuhara can use her expressions and eyes to bring you into her story world.
We believe that a face that "can talk to you" is the true soul of the doll.
Design concept and inspiration
This series of dolls is inspired by real historical crime events, combining realism and fiction. Through distinctive character settings, it constructs movable doll works full of tension and story.
The doll was first publicly exhibited at the Wonder Festival (Tokyo) in Winter 2025, which sparked heated discussions and received high attention.
This work uses Yua Mikami's face as a reference to create sweet and delicate facial features and soft curves, and boldly incorporates the cold mechanical prosthetic design, forming a strong contrast between softness and hardness, showing a unique character charm full of futuristic sense.
There are many ingenious mechanisms and narrative foreshadowing hidden in the work, waiting for players to gradually unlock them during the play process, and personally experience the immersive interaction and multi-dimensional narrative pleasure brought by "movability".
