INFORMATION
SQUARE ENIX of Japan has released "PLAY ARTS Shin," a new series of finished action figures derived from "PLAY ARTS Kai." The company has announced that their latest product, "Cloud Strife," from the game "FINAL FANTASY VII Remake," will be released in February 2026.
The protagonist of FINAL FANTASY VII, Cloud Strife, claims to be a former 1st-rank soldier of Shinra's elite forces. Wielding the massive "Sword of Destruction," he unleashes extraordinary combat prowess. At the start of the story, he's employed by the anti-Shinra organization Avalanche and participates in numerous Mako Reactor bombing operations. Through his interactions with companions like Tifa, Aerith, and Barret, Cloud's initially aloof demeanor gradually develops a sense of responsibility. However, secrets such as his distorted memories and the significance of the "Sword of Destruction" gradually emerge.
The PLAY ARTS True Claude Strife is a fully articulated figure measuring approximately 26.7cm tall. Its articulated body is an improvement on the PLAY ARTS Kai series, featuring new joints and hip joints, and the elimination of the ratchet mechanism found in previous models, allowing for a smoother and wider range of motion. Furthermore, the eyeballs feature a new articulation mechanism, allowing the figure's gaze to change in response to body movements.
The overall design is based on the in-game 3D model, meticulously recreating the texture of Shinra's first-tier soldiers' clothing, Cloud's muscular build, and spiky golden hair. It comes with interchangeable neutral and combat faces. Accessories include multiple pairs of interchangeable hands, including a "Flower of Alice" in hand. The powerful weapon, the "Destruction Sword," features a rich metallic finish and a recreated materia socket, with five different materia colors available.
