Iron Maiden (English: Iron Maiden, or translated as Iron Maiden) is a heavy metal band from East London, England, formed in 1975 by bassist Steve Harris, formerly of Gypsy Kiss and The Smiler. As of 2015, 16 studio albums, 11 live albums, 4 mini albums and 7 best selections have been released.
A pioneer of the British new wave of heavy metal, Iron Maiden began to achieve commercial success in the early 1980s. After several lineup adjustments, the group has released several albums and obtained platinum or gold record certifications in the UK and the US. These include "Number of Beasts" in 1982, "Broken Mind" in 1983, "Slave to Power" in 1984, the live album "Resurrection" in 1985, "Deja vu" in 1986 and "The Life is endless". Since the return of frontman Bruce Dickinson and guitarist Adrian Smith in 1999, the band's popularity has revived. In 2010, the album "Ultimate Frontier" won the top of the record charts in 28 countries and received wide acclaim. The 16th studio album "Lingshu" was released on September 4, 2015.
