PLEX, a Japanese company known for its high-quality and large-scale model kits, has released a new product to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the movie "Shin Godzilla"—the "Godzilla (2016) 4th Form 10th Anniversary Ver." model kit. The suggested retail price is 111,650 yen, and it is scheduled to ship in June 2026.
Directed by Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi, "Shin Godzilla" is the 31st film in the Godzilla series. It has its own independent world view and the same setting as the original 1954 Godzilla. It tells the story of the first appearance of the "giant unidentified creature" Godzilla and its arrival in Japan. It grossed $78 million worldwide and was the highest-grossing Japanese live-action film of 2016!
This "Godzilla (2016) 4th Form 10th Anniversary Ver." uses the same mold as the 2017 version , recreating the image of Godzilla that has evolved into a larger body and landed in Kamakura again. The sculpted details show the texture of the real Godzilla's skin and amazing muscle lines. The red skin revealed under the rough dark red skin looks like it has been painted with a more vibrant color than the previous version. The dorsal fin and neck are made of transparent parts to show the sense of the mutated creature through the visual effect of light. With a large size of about 49 cm in height and about 86 cm in length, it perfectly shows the real Godzilla's extremely imposing and powerful aura!
