Following the popular Batman: The Animated Series merchandise, renowned poster design and toy company MONDO has unveiled a new 1/6 scale action figure themed around the DC Animated Universe sequel, Superman: The Animated Series. The figure is a "Superman Limited Edition" 1/6 scale action figure, with a suggested retail price of $250 USD. Limited to 1000 pieces, it will be available for pre-order on the Mondo Shop website starting at 11:00 AM Central Time on February 3, 2026.
Superman: The Animated Series, which aired on Kids' WB from September 6, 1996 to February 12, 2000, is the second installment in the DC Animated Universe after Batman: The Animated Series. Like its predecessor, it was widely acclaimed for its excellent script, voice acting, mature narrative style, and modern interpretation of the characters.
This limited edition 1/6 scale Superman action figure stands approximately 30.5 cm tall. The sculpt accurately recreates Superman's imposing physique and the iconic large chin of the animated series. The cape is made of plastic, which inevitably affects some of the articulation. The colors are applied using the iconic flat painting technique to reproduce the cel animation's two-dimensional style, with large areas of color blocks and shadows to create contrasts of light and shadow!
The accessories include four interchangeable head sculpts with different expressions, five pairs of interchangeable hands, a curved steel bar, an interchangeable cape with a flowing and dynamic design, and interchangeable right hands from Season 2 Episode 20, "The Hand of Fate," holding Dr. Fate's helmet, and from Season 3 Episode 5, "Little Big Head Man," holding Mister Mxyzptlk's hat. These can be displayed on a dedicated stand to recreate scenes from the anime!
In addition, the limited edition will also include accessory figures of Lucy and Mr. Maverick, which can be combined to recreate Superman flying with Lucy and fighting against Mr. Maverick!
