Renowned poster design and toy company MONDO has once again collaborated with acclaimed American artist Jesse Hernandez to release a new Toho monster-themed product – the "Mothra by Urban Aztec Limited Edition" soft vinyl figure. The suggested retail price is $195 USD. Pre-orders are currently open for a limited time on the MONDO SHOP website until 11:59 AM CET on May 19, 2026, with shipping expected in February 2027.
Jesse Hernandez, a tattoo artist and graphic designer from the San Francisco Bay Area, creates works that blend graffiti, Aztec culture, and Native American art, which he calls "Urban Aztec." Since the early 2010s, he has collaborated with various brands, and his strong style, which combines old and new cultural elements, is highly recognizable!
Previously, Jesse Hernandez collaborated with MONDO on Godzilla and King Ghidorah, releasing them in various colorways. Now, it's finally Toho's turn to feature Mothra, the Queen of Monsters! This "Mothra by Urban Aztec Limited Edition" soft vinyl figure stands approximately 22.8 cm tall with an astonishing wingspan of 45.7 cm. It reinterprets Mothra's classic design with an urban Aztec aesthetic, reshaping her wings with three-dimensional totem-like patterns. Details on the chest, abdomen, and feet also incorporate stylized designs. The eyes feature a geometric arrangement and the use of translucent materials to create compound eyes, complemented by a vibrant red and yellow paint scheme, giving Mothra a completely different charm!
