INFORMATION
The action adventure game "The Last Guardian" is loved all over the world.
This large-scale statue was created under the full supervision of genDESIGN, the game production studio led by Fumito Ueda, who also developed the game. sculptor Akishi Ueda was responsible for creating the prototype and painted sample.
Trico, with a tower about to collapse and a boy on his head, looks out for the next platform. This moment has been dynamically portrayed.
Trico's complex personality has been faithfully recreated in three dimensions, from the mystique of the giant beast to his fierce dynamism and adorableness. The image of the boy, filling his costume with air and desperately grasping at feathers, even conveys the wind pressure he feels.
The depiction of the tower collapsing upon impact with the landing is also a highlight. The sculpture, made using clay and rubble, creates a sense of realism so real that you can almost hear the rattling sound.
Aerial perspective is expressed by using a gradation of pale whites downwards, giving the impression that there is space beneath the base. The color scheme, with its meticulous design of overall light and dark, as if there is a sun overhead, is a true testament to Akishi Ueda's talent.
Planned and produced by TORCH TORCH, this work is the world's first publicly licensed three-dimensional object based on The Last Guardian. Be sure to take your time to enjoy this monumental art piece, which goes beyond simply recreating a character.
