INFORMATION
The KADOKAWA PLASTIC MODEL SERIES (KADOPLA) , a Japanese manufacturer of modular models , has announced the commercialization of two new 1/48 scale modular models of the ARX-10d AZUR RAVEN and ARX-7 BALLOVER based on the novel series "The Bomb." Release dates have yet to be determined.
The "AZUR RAVEN 1/48 Assembly Model," a prototype currently under development, is featured in "Family," the latest sequel to "The Bomb," which depicts Sosuke Sagara and Kaname Chidori starting a family 20 years after the events of "The Bomb." It is set as one of the ASs manufactured privately by the Sagara family, based on the "Type 11" equipped by the Ground Self-Defense Force and a mix of M9 series parts. Its "Agile Thrusters" have the same hovering capability as a helicopter, and its ECS (Electromagnetic Camouflage) makes it completely invisible. It can even remotely communicate with an artificial intelligence (AI) somewhere on Earth to support the activation of the "Λ-Type Drive." Author Shoji Gatou has stated that this machine may be the most powerful of the third-generation models.
Another commercialized mecha, the ARX-7 Gernsback , is a third-generation AS flown by the protagonist Sosuke Sagara in his youth. It's a test machine modified from another AS, the M9 Gernsback. While its basic specifications are similar, the Gernsback is also equipped with a "Λ-type drive" that allows the pilot and the mecha to synchronize their minds. Once activated, Sosuke Sagara can not only transform his thoughts into physical attacks, but can also further cause the mecha to perform movements that violate the laws of physics.
