The Japanese brand GOODSMILE COMPANY, which has launched more than a thousand characters in the "Nendoroid" series, has once again launched an action figure of the mascot of the Japanese ICOCA service, "I-Co-chan of the Platypus" (カモノハシのイコちゃん). The reference retail price is 5,940 yen and it will be sold exclusively at the "West Entrance JR West Group Store" at the 2025 Osaka Kansai Expo official store!
ICOCA, pronounced as I-CO-CA, is an electronic stored-value card of JR West that has the functions of stored-value tickets and electronic wallets. The platypus I-Co-chan is the mascot designed by cartoonist Natsuno Himawari for I-CO-CA. I believe that people who often go to Kansai to play with toys should be familiar with it!
To celebrate the Osaka Expo, I-Co-chan the platypus will be transformed into a super cute Nendoroid! I-Co-chan, who already has cute proportions, maintains his original character in the specifications of a Nendoroid. The sculpting restores his round body and super cute squinty eyes, the paint reproduces the bright lake green color, the expression accessories provide replacement parts for the smiley face, and a mini ICOCA that can be held in the hand is included. The look of him with both hands raised is so cute!
