INFORMATION
The Frog-mouth helm, also known as Stechhelm in German, was popular in the 15th to 17th centuries. This type of helmet is a heavy helmet, weighing more than 5 kg, supported by the wearer's shoulders. It is very popular in jousting because it provides better eye protection. The overall structure of the frog-mouth helmet is basically slightly forward after it is put on. It allows the user to look straight ahead, control the horse and aim at the target. When the two sides come into contact with each other, as long as they straighten their bodies and raise their heads slightly, at the expense of a momentary field of vision, this frog-mouth structure can completely protect the eye slits. The opponent's gun head or the fragments of the broken gun barrel will directly slide on the visor without hurting the fragile eyes. The frog-mouth helmet greatly improves the survivability in the jousting, but it cannot avoid some knights to increase the chance of victory. At the last moment, they did not raise their heads, but kept staring at the opponent. However, casualties caused by fragments still occurred occasionally. Note: All armors are handmade and made of 100% pure copper.
