Carius was a German armored trooper and tank commander, famous for his outstanding achievements. He destroyed more than 150 enemy tanks and about 130 artillery pieces, most of which were achieved on the Eastern Front. He is particularly praised for the "Battle of Marinava" on July 22, 1944, in which he destroyed 17 Soviet tanks in a few minutes with only two Tiger tanks! During Carius' military career, he commanded 38 light tanks, "Tiger" heavy tanks and "Jagdtiger" tank destroyers. His heroic performance and outstanding achievements made him a legendary figure in the history of World War II.
