CCSTOYS, a Chinese toy brand , has announced details of its latest product, "Mazinger Z Kaiser SKL (Thrash Metal Edition)," from the "MORTAL MIND Iron Soul" series of alloy action figures . This product is currently only available through official channels such as CCS CLUB.
Released in 2011, the OVA anime *Mazinger Z: Kaiser SKL* departs from the settings of previous OVA versions of Mazinger Z: Kaiser, featuring new characters, mecha designs, and an original story background. It depicts the WSO's combat unit, SKULL FORCE, intervening in the three-way power struggle on the island of Strange Machines, joining forces with the Aira army to fight against the Chiba and Garan armies. The two protagonists, Kaito Ken and Shinjo Ryo, who shout the signature line "We are hell!" , pilot the super robot *Mazinger Z: Kaiser SKL*, whose power surpasses that of demons and gods. The robot's design incorporates numerous skull elements and is equipped with two distinct weapons: the retractable greatsword "Fang Zan" and the transformable giant axe-wielding dual pistols "Chestplate Dual Pistols," to counter Kaito Ken's expertise in close combat and Shinjo Ryo's incredibly precise shooting skills.
The "Thrash Metal Edition" is a modified version of the previous release , featuring a repainted color scheme with mirrored blue-black, crimson gold, transparent red, metallic red, and other colors, resulting in a more vibrant and bright design reminiscent of the anime's color palette. Aside from the product name on the base, the accessories are identical to the previous version, with colors redesigned to match the changes to the figure itself. For example, the special attack "Hellfire" effect is now purple, and the wings on the back of the "Wenger" figure have a more vivid red wing membrane.
The overall design is based on the original silhouette but with original details, presenting a powerful and imposing presence that surpasses even gods and demons at a height of approximately 25 cm. The use of a movable frame made of plastic and alloy materials creates a sharp and stylish look. Multiple battle-damaged capes and chain accessories that can be attached to various parts of the machine allow for the recreation of the wild image from the original work. The SKL's greatest feature is its versatile and switchable ranged and melee attack modes. Accessories include the signature "Fang-Slaying Blade," a weapon almost the size of the main body, and "Chestplate Dual Pistols" that detach from the chest. Some parts can also be replaced to recreate the dual-pistol axe mode.
The back can combine with the massive wings that detach from the support unit "Unger," and with the original weapon "Serpent's Belly Sword" designed by CCSTOYS, it can not only be wielded in the hand but also connect to the wings like a tail, presenting a more intense and demonic appearance than the original. It also comes with a skull effect part on the chest, which can reproduce the pose of unleashing the ultimate move "Hellfire." In addition, the "Skull Command Boat" mounted on the head can transform into flight mode without replacing parts, and the head parts can also be replaced if they are damaged in battle.
