Bushiroad Creative of Japan has announced that the first of its "PalVerse" series of palm-sized character figures, "Gintama vol.1," based on the popular manga "Gintama," will be released on February 27, 2026.
Gintama is a shonen manga created by Japanese artist Sorachi Hideaki and serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2004 to 2018. Set during the late Edo period and the Meiji Restoration, aliens known as "Amanto" arrive in Japan in spaceships, sparking a war between humanity and the Amanto. However, upon witnessing the Amanto's power, the shogunate succumbs to the unequal treaty. In this world, the protagonist, Sakata Gintoki, who runs the Yorozuya (Yorjiya), navigates his own life, sometimes absurd and sometimes serious, alongside his companions , Shimura Shinpachi and Kagura . Following the completion of both the manga and anime, a spin-off light novel, "Gintama 3rd Year: Class Z: Ginpachi-sensei," has been announced as a television anime adaptation, scheduled to air in October 2025.
The PalVerse series is a collection of cute character figurines based on the concept of a "new world in your palm." They feature characters from various fields, including anime, games, and V-tubers, in next-generation designs.
