The popular "MOVIE MONSTER" series of special effects and monster-themed soft rubber toys released by Bandai Toys of Japan has released the latest products from the movie "Godzilla x Mechagodzilla": "MOVIE MONSTER Jumping Godzilla (2002) Feat. Black Dragon Studio" and "MOVIE MONSTER Jumping Mechagodzilla (2002) Feat. Black Dragon Studio" . Both are now available for a limited time at the official Godzilla store in Japan.
The 2002 film "Godzilla x Mechagodzilla" depicts the 1999 typhoon that brought Godzilla ashore on Japan's Boso Peninsula, causing devastating damage. The Self-Defense Force's Beast-Killing Ray Cars fired fiercely in the storm, but to no avail. This angered Godzilla, who retaliated with radiation and stomping. Following this defeat, the Japanese government decided to salvage the remains of the original Godzilla, destroyed by an oxygen depleting agent, and use their DNA to create a powerful anti-G weapon, Mechagodzilla (Type 3) . Four years later, the completed Mechagodzilla faced off against the reappearing Godzilla.
The "Godzilla" and "Type-3 Machine Dragon" released in this "Leap" branch series were prototyped by Black Dragon Studio , a well-known Japanese monster modeling group . They have a collectible size of 15.5cm and 20cm respectively. The leaping shape recreates the classic scene from the movie poster with the Machine Dragon flying in the sky and Godzilla looking up and roaring. At the same time, a variety of colors are used to recreate the silver-white armor of the Machine Dragon and the yellowed claws of Godzilla.
