"Artist introduction"
Acky Bright is a Japanese manga artist and illustrator, known for his unique "kawakakkoii" (i.e. "cute and cool") style. His works combine fine lines and bold composition, and are deeply loved by audiences at home and abroad.
Since 2020, Acky Bright has begun to publish his works on social media and gradually gained widespread attention. He has created art works for many well-known brands, including McDonald's, Meta, BMW, DC Comics and Netflix.
His first commercial picture book "B/W" was published by PIE International in 2023, and includes about 200 selected works, showing his artistic style and creative philosophy.
In addition, Acky Bright has held many solo exhibitions and live painting events. In October 2024, he held a solo exhibition called "Acky Bright: Studio Infinity" at the Japanese Cultural Center in New York, showcasing his new series KBK-18 and Ah-Un, which combine traditional Japanese art and drama elements.
His artworks often combine female images with mechanical elements to create a visual effect that is both soft and tough, fully embodying the unique charm of "cute and cool".
