GUNDAM BASE, the official Gunpla flagship store for the Japanese "Mobile Suit Gundam" series, has released detailed information about its latest limited-edition product from "Gundam Build Fighters," titled "MG 1/100 Sengoku Heretic Gundam [Metallic Texture]." The figure will be available for purchase at various stores starting November 22, 2025.
The Gundam model Gundam Astray, created by American Gundam model fighter Nils Rayson , is based on the Astray Gundam Red Gundam . It incorporates Rayson's research into Paravsky particle knowledge and technology, his expertise in Japanese martial arts, and his admiration for Japanese samurai culture into the design. The two Japanese sword-shaped solid swords, "Kikuichimonji" and "Kotetsu," possess a particle-modified coating, enabling them to cut through enemy beams and attack with sword energy. Even unarmed, it can unleash a "particle burst" resembling ki gong to damage the internal structure of enemy machines.
The "MG 1/100 Sengoku Heretic Gundam [Metallic Texture]" is a modified version of the standard kit released in 2014. The iconic red frame, armor, and shield parts have all been changed to a metallic red molded finish, while the white armor uses a pearlescent white molded finish, creating a metallic texture through the combination of these two different sheen colors. The swords "Kikuichimonji" and "Kotetsu" are also identical to the standard version, with silver electroplating applied to the blade parts.
Aside from the color, the specifications are basically the same as the regular version. The skeleton is precisely sculpted to recreate the contours of human muscle lines and has flexible articulation. The shoulder armor reproduces the hidden mechanical arm unfolding mechanism. The two samurai swords can be stored on the shoulders when not in use, and can be held with both hands or the mechanical arms when in use. The "Demon Shield" hanging on the back can also be unfolded and held with both hands.
