The popular "SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT" series of candy toys from BANDAI CANDY, the candy toy division of Japan's Bandai Toy Company, has announced that the latest product from the Super Sentai special effects series "Magic Sentai Magic Ranger," the "Magic God Fusion Magic King <Shadow Version> & Magic Circle Expansion Parts Set," is scheduled to be released in March 2026.
The five warriors who appear in the Magical Sentai are siblings from the magical family, the Ozu family. They use a variety of spells and magical items to fight against the underground underworld, the Infilucia. Unlike most other sentai, the giant robots they wield can transform into five legendary demonic magic machines: the Magic Phoenix, the Magic Garuda, the Magic Mermaid, the Magic Fairy, and the Magic Minotaur. They can also combine into the giant dragon form of the Magic Holy Dragon and the demon form of the Magic King .
The newly released "Magic King Fusion Shadow Edition & Magic Circle Expansion Parts Set" is a revised version of the previously released standard edition, featuring a unified, mysterious black, purple, and gold color scheme for all five magic mechas. These unique colors were inspired by the limited-edition DX toy colors released during the series' run as part of a raffle.
The design is basically the same as the regular version except for the color. The product inherits the transformation and combination mechanism of the DX toy version and further improves the movement and shape. The five magic machines are reproduced through the assembly model specifications. For example, the magic phoenix that transforms into magic red has a large number of joints added throughout the body, with up to 24 movable parts. The magic minotaur's shoulders have an original mechanism that allows the magic fairy to stand on the shoulders. Each machine can be played with independently in a leaping pose.
Whether combined into "Magic King" or "Magic Holy Dragon" forms, the new models boast more stylish styling, proportions, and greater mobility than the DX versions. Each unit's small arms can be combined into the "King's Sword," wielded by the Magic King, allowing for a dashing display of his ultimate move, "Magic Slash." Accessories include a seamless, purple, transparent "Large King's Sword," a magic circle effect for the Magic King, and a magic circle effect for the Black Wolf Caesar, allowing for compatibility with the Shadow version of the Magic King and other SMP Magic Sentai merchandise.
