INFORMATION
The popular special effects and monster-themed soft rubber toy "MOVIE MONSTER" series released by Japan's Bandai Toy Co., Ltd. announced that the latest product "MOVIE MONSTER Xihua Destoroyah" from the movie "Godzilla vs. Destoroyah" is expected to be released on October 25, 2025.
Destoroyah was originally a tiny crustacean that lived in an oxygen-free environment 2.5 billion years ago. In 1954, Dr. Serizawa used an "oxygen destroyer" to kill the original Godzilla, but this also awakened Destoroyah, dormant in ancient strata, and gradually transformed into an oxygen-adapted organism. Upon exposure to oxygen, it morphed from its original size of 2-5 mm to a juvenile nearly 2 meters long, capable of coalescing and evolving into an "aggregate." Later, absorbing Godzilla II's DNA and energy from a power plant, it evolved into its full form, exceeding 200 meters in length. Its massive form resembled a terrifying demon, its powerful rays capable of cutting through Godzilla's skin. Its only vulnerability was its ultra-low temperature cryo-rays.
This time, Destoroyah is released in the new "Gi-Hwa" line. The series name "Gi-Hwa" combines the meaning of gorgeous colors with the homophone "GIGA" (giant). The overall size is similar to that of " MOVIE MONSTER Gurren Godzilla (1995) ver. 2.0," recreating the impressive size of the character from the series, even larger than Godzilla. Furthermore, the coloring has been applied to areas not typically depicted in MOVIE MONSTER products, recreating the character from the series.
