The "HG (High Grade)" series of 1/144 scale Gundam models, released by the Hobby Division of Japan's Bandai SPIRITS and featuring the most diverse range of mecha types, announced today that the latest product, the "HG 1/144 Leon," from the official spin-off "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Dual Story G-Unit," will be released in June 2025.
The OZ-06MS-SN3 Leon is a Leo-based mecha piloted by Bloom Brox , one of the "Three Knights of Stardust" of OZ Price . Compared to the chivalrous Leos and the mobility-focused Leor , the Leon builds upon the OZ-06MS Leo with a high-output engine and heavy armor, and replaces its limbs with specifications similar to those of the OZ-07MS Tragos, resulting in excellent defense and melee performance suitable for close-quarters combat.
The HG 1/144 Leon utilizes many new parts to reproduce the heavily armored figure, unlike Leo's, and features an axe-shaped head that can be used as a weapon. The articulation of the limbs mirrors Leo's, and a new pull-out joint at the chest and shoulder joint allows for a range of motion despite the massive shield.
Since the original weapon design only included the Vulcan Cannon and Beam Saber hidden in the shoulders, the HG version of the model designed a new weapon for Leon, the "Warrior Great Axe", which has a huge size similar to the original body. The golden emblems and parts on the axe blade and handle are also independently divided and colored, which can be matched with the weapon holding hand to play with the handsome posture of waving with both hands.
