Godzilla (Taiyo Workshop)
STATUE INFORMATION
I was fortunate enough to receive this enormous Godzilla kit from Taiyo Workshop, standing 50cm tall at the head and 80cm at the tail. The packaging was perfect, and there was no damage to any parts upon opening. The painting request was roughly as follows: the overall color scheme was a classic red and black Godzilla, with the red skin tone adjusted to have a fleshy texture, a dark purple gradient at the base of the dorsal fin extending to the tail, and the back plates designed to match the bone color. The goal was to achieve a visually appealing black and red color scheme from a distance, while revealing the fleshy skin texture up close. The initial approach was to use spray paint to create a layered base color over large areas, followed by extensive brush painting to develop the overall texture. To achieve the fleshy texture, the darker and blood-red areas were fragmented and then reassembled into smaller, more regular areas, achieving the initial painting goals. This kit is extremely large and heavy, and the painting process always prioritized preventing damage. I hope you enjoy this commissioned work!
