The official words of Infinite Statue:
2020 marks the centenary of the birth of the great Japanese actor and his country dedicates exhibitions, projections and celebrations to him throughout the year. Mifune, together with director Akira Kurosawa, fully represent the golden age of Japanese cinema which in 1950 with the victory at the Venice Film Festival with the film Rashomon made their art known in Europe and throughout the world. Mifune is still today the most famous Japanese actor of all time and his image has entered the myth of Cinema forever. He was an actor without limits, with a professionalism and depth in the search for the character so as to be the only actor that a master of perfectionism like Kurosawa respected to the point of giving carte blanche in the films he played. He represented in a unique and unforgettable way the "rebel without a cause", the rōnin out of shape and free from the stereotype of the classic and stereotyped samurai. Toshiro Mifune is forever the Prince of Japanese Cinema and the most iconic image of the Rising Sun.
To create this statue we worked closely with his nephew Rikiya who dedicated all his collaboration to make this work unique in its kind. The intense research in the family archives, the work on often unpublished images and the inspiration through his most famous films have made this sculpture a concentrate of perfection in every detail. From the physical position of the samurai to the careful research on kimono and weapons, from the hair to the long search for expression we have reached a point of perfection that brings this statue close to the dream of seeing once again the great Toshiro Mifune in action. Honored to be able to give this little gem to all fans of great cinema,
The product is available upon reservation, on the company's official website , at a price of € 349.99. The release is currently scheduled for late 2021
